In this episode, Black Hollywood Live hosts Jessica King and Nick Perdue interview special guest Erica Dickerson. As a native Angeleno, Erica began campaigning for an agent at the age of seven. In the third grade Erica nailed her first interview and was signed by Tracy Dwyer at La Talent/Models where she enjoyed a prosperous career as a child commercial actor and model while going to school.
After high school Erica recognized the importance of continuing her education in an environment that would also develop her craft. She was accepted into the prestigious Fine Arts College, Marymount Manhattan. However, her time at Marymount was cut short when she was offered a position to work with a Grammy Award Winning Artist and travel the world. This was a difficult decision but she knew that the educational advantages of world travel would only help to broaden her frame of reference when honing her craft as an actor.
After three years on the job it was time to settle down and refocus on the goal she’s had since she was seven years old, to be a working actor and share her talent and experiences with the world.
Erica is working and living in Los Angeles and is currently represented theatrically by The House of Representatives and her long time manager, Rachel Rothman, of Rothman/Patino/Andres. Commercially she is represented by The Osbrink Agency. This interview July 26th, 2013!
